Living in a picturesque town just north of Boston with her husband Brian and their three children - Lulette, Vivienne, and Fitz - Justine embodies the spirit of a nurturing wife and mother. From a tender age, Justine was captivated by the arts. "I was always engaged in theater, singing lessons, sewing, and, later in high school, photography. I loved that 90-minute class where we would learn about camera settings, composition, and how to develop film in the darkroom," she says, recounting her early explorations into creative expression. T
his foundational passion for art led her to Lasell University, where she initially pursued fashion design and illustration. " I loved drawing luxurious gowns and creating bridal looks, and eventually, my art courses led me in a different direction," Justine recalls, her face lighting up at the memory.
Her academic journey took a significant turn when she transferred to Montserrat College of Art. There, she dove deeper into her artistic pursuits. "I immersed myself in art history, life drawing, painting, and photography," she explains. During this period, she particularly enjoyed capturing still lifes and portraits, which allowed her to refine her photographic skills.
The transition to wedding photography was somewhat serendipitous for Justine. "After college, on a whim, I contacted a local photographer to assist on a wedding day. I was hooked," she recounts with enthusiasm. The experience of capturing a wedding's intricate details and emotional moments was transformative for her. "I loved photographing the details, the moments, the love—all of it, with an eye for fashion and art," she reflects.
When asked about her photography style, Justine describes it as "romantic, timeless with an editorial flair." Her approach combines her background in fashion with a classic photographic technique, aiming to produce magazine-worthy wedding photos.
Justine is committed to using top-tier equipment to capture her images. "I’m officially a Sony girl! I love my A9II and A1 coupled with Zeiss primes," she states, highlighting her preference for high-quality gear that delivers exceptional results.
Justine expresses a particular fondness for destination weddings, especially in Europe. "Absolutely, my passport is ready to go. I love Europe! I am especially fond of Paris. I could never say no to the opportunity to eat more French macaroons ;)" she shares, her enthusiasm for travel evident in her voice. Her readiness to capture weddings abroad adds an exciting dimension to her offerings, blending her love of photography with her passion for travel.
Justine takes a hands-on approach to ensure her clients' wedding days are perfectly captured. "I work diligently to create an effortless day/timeline for their wedding. I help organize and create family groupings and shot lists based on their individual preferences," she mentions, emphasizing her proactive planning process.
She also notes the importance of customization in her services: "Always! I love creating custom proposals for all of my couples. I think it is so important to be able to tailor a package based on their specific needs," Justine asserts, showcasing her dedication to meeting individual client needs.
In addition to her tailored service, Justine offers practical advice for clients preparing for a photo shoot or event. She recommends, "Pick locations that speak to you," highlighting the importance of choosing a setting that resonates personally with the couple. This can greatly enhance the comfort and authenticity of the photos. She also advises, "Choose an outfit that makes you feel amazing!" knowing that confidence in appearance can translate beautifully on camera. Lastly, she suggests bringing a "bottle of champagne to celebrate," adding a touch of celebration and relaxation to the shoot, which helps capture more natural and joyful moments.
