About

Pyrgos Melissourgou
Pyrgos Melissourgou

The Castle is located since the 17th Century, at the Southern part of Attica (Lagonissi), just 15 minutes from the International Airport of Athens, on the way to the Archaeological site of Sounion Peninsula, at a distance of 1.000 meters from the sea, while offering a gorgeous view and unique sun-sets. It is one of the oldest and probably most historic private residences in Greece, that are still maintained in excellent condition and it belongs to the same family since 1836.  Within 60 strema (15 acres) of private land, except from the 350 year old Castle with the Museum furniture and atmosphere, there is a complex of buildings, stables, worker’s houses, water wells and other secondary spaces. One of them, the old Oil Factory, a unique sample of the oil production of the beginning of the century in Attica, is still saved up to date, with all its equipment and machinery in relatively good shape. The pool, like a natural lake with a beach, is fully integrated in the natural environment, and along with the courts of tennis, basket and beach volley, as well as the ecological playground, they are part of the entertainment of the guests.  The spacious parking area is adequate for more than 300 cars. There are 6 WC, plus one for handicapped people. The electric power substation has the capacity to cover very large needs for electric energy. Finally, the small old church is available for weddings and baptisms, within the same area, which can easily host more than 600 seated people and more than 1000 for cocktail. If the wish is the perfect combination of historyand exclusivity, very close to Athens and the International Airport, with a beautiful view to the sea, and with outmost privacy, then the choice is obvious and unique.
