Alan and Madie form the heart and soul of Lite Weddings. Their journey began 11 years ago, not just as life partners but as pioneers in their own artistic endeavors. Initially immersed in the world of music and painting, their creative pursuits took a serendipitous turn about eight years ago when they stumbled upon the art of photography. "We started by snapping photos of friends, people, and cool places, and sharing them online in social media," Alan shares. Madie adds, "That’s how we got our first gig for a social event."
Their venture into wedding photography began with an unforgettable assignment—a Mexican wedding, brimming with vibrant colors, lively mariachi music, and the groom donned in a traditional charro outfit. "As the day was going on, we were watching all the emotions and shared moments which made us instantly fall in love with wedding photography," Madie recalls with a twinkle in her eye. “Over time, we’ve met tons of amazing people who vibe with our vision and ideals. Our team has grown, and we share the same passion and vibes dedicated to capture those special wedding moments!”
This pivotal experience cemented their love for capturing weddings, setting them on a path filled with joyous moments and heartfelt connections.
With six years of solid experience in the wedding industry, Lite Weddings has refined a photography style that is both classic and timeless. "We try to keep the colors very natural as we don't want the photos to be old fashioned in some years. That's why we love timeless style," explains Alan. They are equipped with the latest Canon cameras and lenses, ensuring each shot captures the raw, unfiltered beauty of the moment.
Alan and Madie thrive on the unique atmosphere of each wedding day. "To experience a vibe unlike any other day, which let us capture those feelings and emotions. It’s incredibly satisfying to know that people can relive their special day through the photos we take and feel those emotions again," says Madie. Understanding different cultures and traditions is more than just part of the job—it’s a source of inspiration and fulfillment for them.
Working closely with each couple is paramount to their process. "First off, we love getting to know the couple, their vibes, their story, and how they feel in front of the camera," Alan notes. From discussing poses to aligning with their inspirations via tools like Pinterest, Lite Weddings ensures the photography reflects the true essence of the couple.
"On the wedding day, we're always in touch, checking in to see if they prefer posing or just being themselves, whether they’re comfortable with certain poses. This helps ensure the photos truly reflect their personalities. We also make sure to ask about any must-have shots or important moments they don’t want to miss," Madie adds.
While they cater to weddings globally, Italy holds a special place in their hearts. "We have done weddings in Canada, the United States, Anguilla, the Dominican Republic, and Italy. But our favorite one is Italy for sure," Madie states. Their passion for travel not only fulfills their wanderlust but also enriches their portfolio with a diverse range of wedding stories from around the world.
Lite Weddings find their optimal number of weddings per year to hover around 35, ensuring each couple receives the attention and energy they deserve. This balance allows them to dedicate sufficient time to each event, making every couple feel special. On the day of the wedding, Lite Weddings offers between 8 to 10 hours of coverage. This span is designed to capture the full spectrum of the wedding experience, from the early moments of preparation to the peak celebrations of the reception.
Understanding that every couple is unique, Lite Weddings excels in crafting custom packages that align with the distinct visions of each client. "At all times, we listen carefully to our clients to understand their vision for their wedding day and how they envision their photos. This allows us to guide them through the process and create timelines for each type of photo," Madie explains. Whether it's prioritizing family group shots or capturing intimate moments of the couple, they ensure that their service is molded to meet specific desires and expectations.
To facilitate a smooth photography experience, Alan and Madie recommend couples prepare key items and details ahead of the wedding day. "Before the wedding day, we recommend having all the details ready such as shoes, invitations, rings, and all the stuff they want to have in photos, so they can relax and fully enjoy your special day," Madie advises.
They encourage couples to let the day unfold naturally, assuring them that they will be guided through the posing process and other photo opportunities. "After all the planning, the most important thing is to enjoy the day because this will be reflected in the photos," Alan adds.
Alan and Madie of Lite Weddings are more than just photographers; they are storytellers who dedicate themselves to capturing the essence of one of life’s most significant events. Their commitment to authentic, timeless photography and personalized client experiences makes them a standout choice for couples around the world. As passionate travelers, they continue to seek new adventures that allow them to document love in its many forms, wherever it may be found.
