Amanda and her team are what customer service and the entire wedding experience are all about. I can’t even put into words what they made come to life for my husband and my special day. Amanda took care of quite literally anything and everything planning wise I could think of. She went above and beyond even coordinating with the hotel on how to drop off room favours for our guests and fixed a room mixup for us and one of our guests. From every napkin to every place card, she thought of it all and made sure it was absolutely perfect on the special day. She was readily available to chat whenever I had a concern and set timelines for each item to be coordinated before the big day. That was only the planning, she also did the most amazing job on the design and decor. I was truly speechless when I saw it in real life. All of this was done by respecting my budget and still making it look perfect. If you are looking to have a smooth and stress free planning experience while also having your design dreams come to life without having to lift a finger, Sea and Silk is your go to. Everything was done with professionalism and high end finishes. I cannot thank them enough.

Where do I begin! Since the day my husband, Chris, proposed, I knew that I wanted Amanda to plan and design our wedding. She instantly reached out, coordinated a date and time for us to connect, and took our vision and literally brought it to life by creating a detailed full plan package. Amanda was so incredibly supportive, patient, and professional throughout our entire planning process and made our experience stress-free and enjoyable. When we had any questions or concerns, she was quick to respond, provide us with clarification or resolutions, and made us feel completely at ease. Amanda’s attention to detail is one of her many qualities as a wedding planner. Every meeting we had, she knew exactly what Chris and I were looking for and truly created a beautiful, modern, and romantic wedding we have always dreamed of having. Our venue at the Ottawa Art Gallery, initially was an open, empty space and thanks to the Sea and Silk Events team and our other talented vendors, they turned the Alma Duncan Salon into an elegant and timeless event space. When Chris and I initially selected our wedding date, we knew that Amanda would unfortunately not be able to be our coordinator on the day of our wedding. We trusted Amanda and knew that she would communicate and connect with her other team members to make our day go as seamlessly as possible. Thanks to Carolyn, she took the lead and was incredibly supportive on our wedding day. She was so patient, kind and incredibly supportive. We put all of our trust in Carolyn and she exceeded our expectations by being so organized and decisive when it came to minor issues or changes leading up to our ceremony. Chris and I want to say a big thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your hard work and for making our wedding day so magical. I needed a wedding planner because I was living in a different city than where the wedding was to be held.  I also had no idea what to do, having never done this before, and had a busy work and personal life. I didn’t have the time or bandwidth to manage the process myself.  Amanda was the master conductor in our journey to plan and execute one of the most important days of our lives.  We couldn’t have done it without her invaluable insight, advice, and experience.  Picking her was the best decision we made for our wedding.

From the initial survey of planners available in Ottawa, I found her taste to be the most sophisticated. The portfolio on her website also showcases a wide range of design and artistic styles, showing that she is not limited to a “formula” and able to accommodate and customize to her clients needs.

Since working with her over the last year, I have found her to be professional, prompt, responsive, and detail oriented.  She did everything from making recommendations for suppliers, tracking budgets, design, flower, timeline coordination, managing the team of people and ensuring every detail goes through smoothly on the wedding day.  She also helped me navigate selecting the venue, one of the most stressful parts of the process.  We communicated our vision and desire for the wedding.  Amanda understood right away and brought the ideas to life.

It is very difficult to manage and deliver to the high expectations required for a wedding.  There are so many stakeholders involved, so many details. Amanda was always respectful of our wishes and took care of all the planning and organizing so I could just focus on showing up and enjoying the wedding day.  This was priceless.  We had a great time and everyone in our families were pleased with how things turned out.

From start to finish Amanda was incredibly supportive in finding a common vision for the many varying ideas my fiancé and I had in mind for our wedding day. She was always on par with my excitement for how the day was going to unfold and regularly checked in to make sure our needs were being met. The moment we walked into our ceremony and reception space we were overwhelmed by how stunning all the details that made up our vision were laid out by Amanda and her team. As a busy working mom a wedding planner was essential and I’m so thankful Amanda was by our side throughout the process!

I seriously cannot recommend Sea & Silk enough.
We hired Amanda as our month of coordinator. She went above and beyond our expectations. She answered every little question I had quickly, with kindness and expert advice. She was my supporter (and friend!) all the way leading up to our wedding and on the day.
I was originally on the fence about having a day of coordinator and now I truly believe hiring Amanda was one of the smartest things we did! Having her was crucial!!! I had no fears or stress on our wedding day because I knew Amanda and Kristina had everything under control. They allowed us to actually enjoy and be present as guests at our own wedding.

Wedding planning is something that truly combines a lot of my loves and passions – fashion, design, food and beverage, and hospitality. I have always been drawn to fashion and interior design and adore using these as inspirations for my wedding designs. I’m a graduate of Algonquin College’s Event Management Graduate Program, as well as a University Graduate. I have been in this industry since 2016 and Sea and Silk was born from a love of all things events.
