Planning a destination wedding was surprisingly a lot easier than we expected! The one thing that helped the most was having our absolutely fabulous wedding coordinator, Hélène, of @sparklingdays_event. Having a coordinator who was fluent in English and French was a huge asset, even though many of the vendors we met with spoke English as well. We leaned heavily on social media to find vendors, mainly through Instagram. It was so helpful to get a full picture of the vendor’s style and past weddings they had worked on. I would then take a look at other profiles that were tagged in their posts to find other vendors. It was reassuring to see that these vendors had relationships, had worked together, and produced beautiful results!
Logistically, the most important thing to pay attention to was the currency difference and being really meticulous with our budgeting. Keeping close tabs on the exchange rate helped us not lose too much money in the currency conversion. All the planning was well worth having the best week of our lives with our loved ones in the south of France. We highly encourage couples who are considering a destination wedding to take the leap and go for it!
