We have deep gratitude for everything the team at Château de Tresserve did to make our wedding feel truly magical. From the very beginning of the planning process through the entire wedding weekend, they went above and beyond not just for us, but for every single one of our guests. The care, professionalism, attention to detail, and warmth they showed made the entire experience feel effortless.
The venue itself is stunning and a dream-like setting on Lac du Bourget. Each room is uniquely and luxuriously decorated and offers views of either the lake or the gardens. We stayed from Friday to Sunday, which made the celebration feel like a real getaway experience. Friday was an intimate rehearsal dinner in the château’s hidden (speakeasy-like) wine cellar, Saturday was our wedding day, and Sunday we hosted a farewell brunch. My husband and I stayed in one of the rooms in the turret of the château, which has a jacuzzi at the top. After the dance party (in the château’s downstairs club) we came back to our room and there was a bottle of champagne, a bottle of wine from the château’s private reserve and a delicious cake that we ate while in the jacuzzi.
The château also served a French breakfast each morning for guests staying on site. They were incredibly attentive to all dietary needs, and all religious and cultural considerations were handled with respect. My husband’s family speaks French while mine speaks English, so there were many logistical details around the ceremony and speeches, all of which were thoughtfully planned and well executed. They were also very accommodating when it came to the personal details my husband and I wanted to incorporate throughout the weekend.They also had a specific care team to look after children during the event.

Matthieu & I had the most amazing wedding in Chamonix—it truly exceeded all expectations. It’s such a special place to us, so sharing it with our friends and family made it even more meaningful.
We had our ceremony at La Bergerie de Plan Praz (with unreal Mont Blanc views) and the reception at Le Carrousel. Most guests stayed at La Folie Douce Hotel, and we even rented the Petit Train to bring everyone to the lifts—such a fun and unique touch!
Biggest tip: plan with your guests in mind and be ready for weather—also bring sunscreen, the sun up there is intense!
