I've been dreaming about my wedding for as long as I can remember, and I couldn't have done with out Lisa and her team, they executed it perfectly. She not only brought my vision to life but also served as a reliable sounding board during the sometimes stressful wedding planning process. A good friend of mine hired Lisa from Shing Weddings for her wedding and I knew I wanted to have her coordinate mine!

We hired Lisa for the full wedding package which included pre-planning up to day of. And for well over a year, she kept in contact with us to ensure that our wedding vision would materialize. Lisa has a lot of experience, knows great vendors, and shares great advice. She is also very reassuring and just so lovely to work with.

On the day of, Lisa and her team brought most of the decorations and supplies to the venue and this made a huge difference as we did not have to do the heavy lifting in our formal wear! Lisa’s team was also very pleasant to work with. Eva was so incredibly friendly and her energy was just glowing! And John and Michelle were wonderful and very helpful. Having the team clean-up after saved us so much time and work. It was a big relief not to worry about cleaning up after!

OK, where do we start? Let's start with the obvious. The Shing Weddings team has 100+ 5 star reviews - and as a couple who hired them to coordinate our October 2023 wedding, it is abundantly clear why.

Before the wedding: We'd heard about Lisa and her team through friends who'd either worked with them or attended a wedding that had been planned by them. Everyone - and I mean everyone - only had glowing reviews. As a fairly picky couple, we were somewhat skeptical but contacted Lisa. After our initial consultation call, we immediately knew she was the right wedding coordinator for us. Lisa is fun, bubbly, and positive… but most of all, incredibly competent, hardworking, and professional. That was our first impression of her and it only went uphill from there. From day 1, she promptly answered all of our questions despite being incredibly busy herself (as evidenced by Shing's IG). As the months flew by, she asked us all the right questions, gathered an in depth understanding of our needs and preferences - as well as those of our families - and made sure we were comfortable and on track. Planning a wedding is so daunting, but we never once felt overwhelmed as we knew that we could rely on Lisa. A few months out, Lisa took over and it alleviated a ton of stress on our parts. Her connections and recommendations for other vendors in the industry was so valuable when it came to assembling the perfect group that would work seamlessly together on the day of. Even when it came to vendors she had not worked with before, Lisa was incredibly professional in her interactions with them and made sure everyone was in the loop and understood what was going on.

In the weeks leading up to the wedding + on the wedding day itself: Lisa liaised with our vendors, friends/helpers, family members, and ourselves. Of course things come up last minute, but we never felt like any question or request was silly or stupid. She always made us feel comfortable, heard, and reassured. Lisa's experience and professionalism extended beyond her, but also to her amazing team of industry experts at Shing. We were fortunate to work with Eva (aka. the sweetest and most calming person ever!), Jon, Alex, and Michelle on the day of our wedding. Between the five of them they had all the bases covered and we felt so pampered and worry free (well, as much as possible) on the day of. The team went out of their way to make sure all of our needs and the needs of our families and guests were attended to. They navigated tricky family scenarios / dynamics with so much grace and tact. They managed our day-of schedule and budget with military precision. They made sure my fiance and I were briefed on everything that was happening, and that we were well fed, hydrated... and during the reception, made sure we always had our preferred drink in hand! The day went perfectly and without a hitch from our perspective, because Lisa and her team resolved everything discretely and with ease. Even our parents and many of our guests noticed and went out of their way to comment on Lisa and the team's efficiency, acumen, and attention to detail.

My fiance and I joke that we would trust Lisa and her team with our lives, but in all seriousness, if you are planning a wedding, you will not regret working with Shing.
