I thought we could plan our wedding ourselves. Then I thought we could hire a wedding planner to just manage a few tasks and we’d handle the rest. In truth, we couldn’t have had a wedding without Claire. Maybe we could’ve gotten married, but we never would have managed to have a beautiful day, never could we have had all of our family and friends in a single place, never would we have left saying it was the best day of our lives. That is all because of Claire.

Claire was phenomenal in many ways. I consider us rather Type A people and Claire beat us at our own game. She was always five-steps ahead of us. Remembering what we said weeks ago or sending us an email about an essential to-do that wasn’t on our radar. Logistically, Claire is the best project manager both of us have ever worked with, not just personally, professionally too. She ensured our day went by without a hitch, but also the months prior. The calm we felt knowing that Claire was “on-it” was worth it alone. We could focus on each other and our families, instead of worrying about whether something tactical would be forgotten or missed. Thanks to Claire, we got to focus on what mattered.
Besides the tactics of our day, there’s also the budget. Because money certainly isn’t infinite, it meant a lot that Claire was fastidious in her budgeting and kept us on budget. There were no surprises and we concluded our wedding payments with a feeling of calm, with no last-minute whoopses…which would have surely been incredibly stressful had that arisen.

I know Blush & Bowties must be thanked at large for their design work on our wedding. Still, as a designer-artist pairing ourselves, we know that listening well is not a small skill. We came to the table without a pinterest board and all of zero wedding designs that we actually liked. Instead, we had a smattering of hotels around the world we loved and a sense of the energy we wanted to feel on our day. Claire didn’t bat an eye. She was able to ask questions in a way that drew us out and actually helped us to clarify an aesthetic that we didn’t come to realize until we spoke to Claire.

That is a mark of a true design talent!

Without Claire we wouldn’t have walked into our wedding and felt it was ours. She realized a vision we didn’t yet know we had. When she revealed our reception space — it was literally perfect. Claire not only helped us articulate our vision, she realized it. Never would we have thought that the most beautiful place we’ve been...would be our own wedding.

I imagine helping two people get married is a tough job. It’s wrought with the complexity of finances, families, feelings, expectations and realities. Claire is a true professional. We could bring concerns and questions to her — about the flow of the day, support we needed or anything that was on our mind. Claire handled things with a grace and competency that put us at ease. There is a comfort that comes with knowing you’re in the hands of an expert.

As two people whose “best day ever” looks like a cozy couch, cozy PJs and no one else — we never expected our “best day ever” would be a day of dressing up with tons of people all staring at us. As two people who have idiosyncratic opinions on art/design, we never imagined our aesthetics could be merged and realized at our wedding, especially in Toronto.

Claire really did it — she created our perfect space…and she did what I believed impossible…she helped make our wedding our “best day ever.”

When it came to planning our wedding, choosing Blush and Bowties as our wedding planners was easily the best decision we made. Being busy in our careers, spending hours planning a wedding was not something we wanted to do. Claire made the whole process seem easy - even though we know, without a doubt, that she was doing so much hard work behind the scenes. Without Alex our wedding would not have happened; even if it did happen, it would have looked nothing like the elevated and elegant affair that it was. We're lucky to have found Alex, and we're lucky to be able to call her a friend. Do yourself a favour and give her a shout.

Aside from mine and the grooms experience my bridal party and family made several mentions that they have never met such a kind wedding planner and could tell how much she cared about us and our day. The best thing I did for our wedding was hire Narnia and her team!! I got the partial planning and it was perfect. From the beginning of our meeting I knew this was the right fit. I am Type A but also get overwhelmed by the small things and that was a perfect compromise because I was able to bounce my ideas and visions of the team and they were able to make it come true. Narnia listens to what you want and gives you ways to make it happen in the best way (and budget friendly way). By the end of the planning process she felt like a friend and someone easy to confide in about wedding stresses and was able to ease the stress.
